About
I have taken it upon myself to be the voice of some of the greatest stories ever told. Man’s greatest achievements–The Great Adventures. From Mt. Everest to the North and South Poles, to the Oceans and the Skies, From the Inventors to the Makers of History.
This is how The Adventurist began in November of 2006. I wanted to create a site where people could seemingly come and learn more about some of the great adventures taking place in our world.
With a philosphical statement of “Promoting Exploration, Education, and Personal Challenge through Adventure”, The Adventurist has seemingly lined itself up for the long haul, making this The best Adventure site, not only to me, but to you as well.
Reading Jack London, Rudyard Kipling, Ernest Hemmingway, as well as a host of others growing up, it instilled in me the thrill of adventure. Not knowing what is coming around the next corner. Stories of bravery and death, survival and life….hope that we may succeed, but not without a challenge.
As I got older, I realized that alot of these stories could be attributed to some fact–that even in todays crazy world, these values and deep personal instincts for adventure still hold true, but where were they hiding?
I searched the internet for a site that could possibly help me get some answers. I wanted Adventure and I wanted it now. For something as vast and worldwide as the internet though, I was finding nothing. I could find sites of single expeditions to the North or South Poles, but nothing that seemed to bring them all together…so being the Adventurist that I am, I set out to create what I thought would be the perfect format to bring this all together: The Adventurist.
Based partly on those great adventure stories of the past…the great explorers…discovery…nature….hope, as well as a great upbringing with National Geographic by my bedside and a background in journalism and freelance writing, I set out to create my vision…
The Adventurist has now been read by close to 100,000 people.
To me personally, it was about setting goals and doing what I wanted to do. Building something that could stand the test of time, as well as being able to bring some of this information that isn’t reported in the major media, to attention.
There are wars tearing up our world, destruction lurking around every corner–yet, in adventure, there is hope…goals of achieving something monumental with the risk of disaster….putting our fears aside and living life to its fullest….striving and achieving for greatness…our legacy.
As far as personal goals, I want to continue doing what I am doing. I am having fun and loving every minute of it. Long term goals include building upon my writing credits, pumping out the articles and trying to make this a full time job. I love writing, I love adventure and have decided that if writing can take me this far, why not go farther? Why not push the boundaries and try to make a career out of doing what I love to do? Writing Adventure.

Hello,
My name is Sharon and my company is currently working on a project with Lipton, which I thought would be of interest to you and your readers.
The Lipton campaign seeks to alleviate some of the work-stress we all accumulate by fighting ‘Indooritis,’ which is explained to be a condition resulting from spending too much time indoors!
The site for the campaign is located at http://www.fightindooritis.com, it features some fun activities, a quiz to determine your over-worked level, and coupons for Lipton teas, so you can enjoy all the great benefits of tea!
We hope you find the site interesting and are able to share it with your friends and readers. Please let me know if you would like any additional information or graphics from the campaign.
Thank you,
Sharon
